Tabitha Elder Haynes is a born and raised Houston Native. She left Houston for a short amount of time to attend college at St. Edward’s University (Austin, Texas) on a Volleyball Scholarship and competed in the Heartland Conference. Tabitha graduated Cum Laude from SEU, with a Bachelor of Arts in Business, and a concentration in Marketing.
Immediately following her undergraduate career, Tabitha attended Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University. While at TSU, Tabitha maintained several student-leadership positions. Tabitha served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for the Student Bar Association (SBA), Fundraising Coordinator for the Black Law Students Association (BLSA), and during her 3L year as the BLSA President. Additionally, Tabitha was a Graduate Student Assistant and Peer Tutor in Property, Torts, and Business Associations. Tabitha was also hired as a Summer Associate for a prominent Personal Injury firm during both her 1L and 2L summers. Tabitha passed the Bar Exam and was admitted to the State Bar all before she graduated law school with honors.
In her first years of practice, Tabitha zealously represented Plaintiff’s in various civil litigation lawsuits as a trial attorney. Tabitha represented these clients while working at a top Personal Injury firm, who in 2019 was named in the Top 50 of Jury Verdicts. During her tenure, she managed a docket of 100+ cases and facilitated each case through the litigation process and trial preparation. Through this experience, Tabitha earned her clients thousands of dollars in settlements and mediations. This includes grossing a total of $350,000 in total revenue in her first month at the firm.
After representing her clients in a variety of civil litigation matters, Tabitha decided to switch to contract and debt collection litigation while representing major financial institutions and banks. Tabitha practiced at the leading creditor’s rights firm in the United States. During her term, she Managed a docket of 1000+ cases and facilitated each case through the litigation process. Tabitha effectively settled hundreds of cases through pre-trial, mediation, and post-judgment negotiations and earned clients more than half a million dollars in revenue. Tabitha's settlement negotiations at one point accounted for 40% of the branch's total revenue. Tabitha earned a well-respected reputation in the courtroom by effectively representing her clients through various hearings, mediations, and trials by presenting evidence in front of judges and juries to achieve her client’s desirable outcomes.
Tabitha then left creditor’s rights to build up her transactional practice by representing businesses and Oil & Gas service companies in a variety of Business, Finance, and Real Estate matters. Tabitha gained significant experience during this time and reviewed, drafted, and negotiated various commercial contracts for Oil & Gas service companies. Tabitha also aided prominent manufacturing companies in closing multi-million-dollar Real Estate deals. Tabitha also assisted many small businesses in creating entities, drafting corporate governance documents, and aiding them with small mergers and acquisitions deals. During this experience, Tabitha also strengthened her litigation skills by representing her clients in complex business litigation and construction law matters.
Tabitha currently enjoys mentoring and coaching high school volleyball players, gardening, watching the NBA, cooking, supernatural TV shows, and spending time with family.
